How time flies these days. Its hard to believe that events, trips, tours, gigs and everything that you plan months if not years ahead come and go so fast. It seems like only a short time ago I was burdened with the stress of being properly organized for the 2025 Fly Fishing Show tour. I shorted myself on preparation time with an overly full travel and fishing schedule last fall and early winter. But somehow there’s always a way. I not only successfully delivered 25 presentations but it was great to meet with people and I very much enjoyed the busy show run. And today I’m home. Home for the first time really since December 29th.
The Denver Fly Fishing Show was the icing on the cake to a fantastic and successful tour. All of the shows were excellent this year. Attendance was back to what it was pre-Covid. The aisles were full and mine and my fellow presenters had full auditoriums for all the talks.
I jammed on art for people between my demonstrations and the end results were some very cool looking backpacks, fly boxes and tackle bags. Some were Yeti’s with trout. There were Simms with muskies and this Orvis bag needed some color. Lance gave me some freedom so I nailed down this Rio Marié peacock bass.
Regardless of the shows and travels going well, there’s some wear and tear on the body. There were a lot of long busy days followed by late nights and enormous meals. Within and hour after getting home yesterday I did a session of shoulder PT followed by a five mile bike ride. I’m almost embarrassed to say the ride beat me up. Time to get back in shape!
I have ten days before I leave again. This time however its for a fishing trip. I’m hosting my usual crew to back to back weeks at Farquhar and Providence Atoll in the Seychelles. I never stop packing. Nor do I want to ever stop packing!
A rolling stone…
Welcome home!
Jeff,
While having my morning coffee out of my Jeff Currier brook trout mug, I got to read your post.
Life is good!
Thanks fellas! Howie we need to fish when I get home from the Seychelles. And Paul, no prettier mug than a white one with a brookie on it! Your day is off to a great start!
