Quotes and Comments from Jeff's Interview on European Fly Fishing Techniques as found on Fly Fish Radio.

I caught your show later than the live broadcast, but really enjoyed it. I'm new to the sport of fly fishing so a lot of the information was beyond my skill level, but gave me ideas for research. Most of my fly fishing is warm water lake fishing in North Texas, I've never had a trout on a fly rig, but a 3.5 lbs bass will get the heart rate up.

Hey Guys, Jeff Currier's show was great! Another round of superb questions asked by you and the write-ins. I liked Jeff's truthfullness about how he got picked and got started in world competition. Keep up the excellent programs!

Great show. I thoroughly enjoyed Jeff's discussion of Polish and Spanish nymphing techniques. His insight into equipment and tackle requirements was very helpful. Good luck to Jeff and Team USA in Portugal!

I really enjoyed the show and spent most of the time taking notes instead of working. Thank goodness for the pause and rewind!!

Jeff Currier - IGFA World Record Holder, Golden Mahseer

In October 2008, Jeff Currier was awarded by the International Game Fish Association, a world angling record for a catch of the world's heaviest Golden Mahseer, in accordance with international angling rules. Jeff caught this record 27 pound Mahseer on a fly on May 29, 2008 in India.

In the Volume 10, Issue Two, 2008 Drake Magazine, Jeff Currier is quoted "The Himalayan golden mahseer is one of the toughest fly rod species on earth. This is the world's largest carp, so aren't stupid. If you hook one, watch out for jagged rocks in the rapids, the mahseer calls home. Carp are tough fighters even in still water, but put this big cousin of theirs in fast moving water, give it a little higher octane fuel and you'll have a difficult time finding a harder fighting fresh water fish anywhere."

IGFA (International Game Fish Association) maintains and publishes world records for saltwater, freshwater, fly fishing catches, U.S. state freshwater records, and junior angler records, awarding certificates of recognition to each record holder. Recognized as the official keeper of world saltwater fishing records since 1939, IGFA entered the field of freshwater record keeping when Field & Stream transferred its 68 years of records to the association in 1978.
